Myself and my family own a watersport and tourism business. We rent boats, parasail, jet skis, etc. 2 long time employees started a new business making mobile apps for iOS and Android. They offered to make an app for our business that also allows customers to reserve an activity and make a payment. They are offering us a large discount but we just aren't sure if it is worth it. Does anyone else have a mobile app?

The problems with having your own app are a) high costs of developing it, and b) expecting customers to download and learn the app just to buy stuff from you. I'd find an existing app with a large userbase you can use- that would cost you money per sale vs. the fixed cost these guys are asking for, plus it would serve to bring customers in. Be waaay easier to.

You really don't need it. I think it will create more problems than it would solve. Do people want to pay before they get to you?

No, I don't have an app for my business. But I think the app for your business is a great idea. It depends on what percentage of rentals, etc come from your customer base. If a large percentage is repeat business, then I would go for it. It would provide a great convenience to your customers. That's a great way to set yourself apart from your competition.

Mobile apps for business are an innovative way to maintain customer loyalty. My advice is to create a mobile app that is functional. Try to integrate some customer feedback platform that is moderated so that only the great reviews appear and also Facebook photo sharing or Twitter.

Why not do a quick survey with your customers and see if they're open to the idea of a mobile app? It sounds good on paper, since almost everyone has a smartphone nowadays. A mobile app also makes it more convenient for your customers to engage your business on-the-go.

Of course, developing an app costs money. Since your employees are offering to develop it, then I assume it's much easier to negotiate the pricing with them. At the same time, you can work closely with them so as to create an app that will meet your business needs.

Aside from the cost, you also have to consider which device to develop for. If the app is only for android phones, how about your customers that uses iphones? That's another app to develop. How about Blackberry users?

If the purpose is just to reserve an activity and make payments, I think all you need is to convert your website into a "responsive" one and make the reservation and payments button noticeable. Responsive websites are optimized for all types of browsers and device. :)

No app here. Personally, I don't think it is that useful especially while running a small business. Maybe as you get bigger and bigger it might be useful but at this point I wouldn't really recommend it.

I have none because I don't think my business is unique enough to warrant its own app, and I would venture a guess that yours might be of a similar situation. I personally wouldn't go for it especially if you already have a website, and if so, probably a better move would be just to optimize the site for mobile viewing but even then it might be a slightly unnecessary expense. I'd only say go for it if you are wanting to give your former employees a chance or a good start to their new business, otherwise, it might be better to just refer a better potential client to them instead which I'm sure will still make them very grateful.

Yeah the costs of having the app in what concerns me. I have to admit that when it comes to my bussines, i try to keep it as frugal as possible. I do not like to go the extra mile in terms of costs if i do not have to.

I heard about this from a friend. If you installed hidden or security camera in your shop, there's an app that allows you to view everything in realtime from your phone. Seems very convenient for those who run a shop but lives quite some distance away from it.

Instead of a mobile app we use WP touch pro. You can see how it works on my sure http://www.gadgetised.com
Just go there on a mobile device or tablet. I find this to be a far better option than a mobile app for blogging purposes.

I think having a website and also an app is the nest big thing. People are now trying to make sure that their businesses have as much exposure as possible. Personally I just have a website but am in the process of developing an app for the business hoping to boost it.

I don't see why the need to pay for one. There are already lots of successful apps where you can list your business. Just build a company website with a good contact page and location details and you're bound to have it harvested and placed in certain apps without doing a thing. You could try adding it to Google maps along with some pictures. And there are plenty more opportunities then the ones I listed to get your customers in touch with your business. Just look around, don't pay.

I've none since When i don't think my personal organization is exclusive ample for you to guarantee its software, in addition to We would enterprise some sort of reckon that your own property may very well be of any similar predicament. I know couldn't go for it especially if people have a web site, and if consequently, almost certainly an even better transfer can be just to boost the web page pertaining to mobile watching although perhaps then it is some sort of slightly unneeded cost. I had only point out go for it in case you are attempting to supply your current former workers an opportunity or even a good start on their new business, in any other case, it is better to simply relate an even better possible buyer for many years as a substitute which in turn I'm certain may however get them to quite happy.

I don't have a mobile app yet but I am actually studying how to make one. I make my own websites and do my own search engine optimization, so I figured it is time to learn how to create mobile apps. I hired someone to teach me how to create mobile apps instead of paying him to create one for me. I figured it would be a great skill to have and it's probably something that will be in demand for a while!

I've been considering a mobile app, but I was a bit confused about three intellectual property aspect of it all. Do I need to get a patent if I design the code myself? And if so, do the benefits outweigh the costs?

An expert passionate about cell phones, smartphones, mobile apps, tablets and any tech gadgets. Mobile apps are integral parts of many businesses, irrespective of their size and industry. While most small businesses have their own websites, a mobile app can be the trigger for more sales and better customer service.

Recently, I searched the Internet for gifts for relatives from Russia. Although I am now in this country, I am so lazy that I decided to use the network. I got some beautiful gifts, like this one https://www.tresorsderussie.com/en/decorative-eggs-decorative-wooden-eggs-xsl-366_376.html, but just like a specialist, I liked them attractive, from the point of view functional view, site!

According to Statistica, Google Play Store now has more than 3.5 million apps, and the Apple App Store has another 2.2 million apps. From the outset, it gives the impression that every second business probably has its own mobile app.

If you are a small business owner and your business does not have a mobile app, you need to get one. Having a web presence alone is no longer sufficient, as online activity continues to shift to mobile. Simply put, smartphone apps have become too important a marketing tool for small business owners to do without.

People rely on their mobile devices for everything, from communicating and networking to managing their finances and purchasing products. This is why developing a mobile app for your business is crucial to build brand awareness and a loyal audience. A mobile app is your customers' portal to your business

An app makes it easier to promote your products (or services). Companies with mobile apps make better impressions than those without one. A mobile application will make your business stand out, and frequent updates help develop customer interest in your products.

Your business might not need a mobile app, but a mobile-first approach can benefit you. ... Mobile apps, on the other hand, need to be downloaded and installed via an app store and those gain and use access to your system resources. Web apps function like mobile apps, but from the comfort of the phone's browser.

Does a small business NEED to have a mobile app? Definitely not.

Could it benefit from one? Possibly. It really depends on what the small business does. An app might be a complete waste of time and money. (And its absolutely a waste of time and money if the app is poorly planned and designed.) Of all the types of small businesses out there, few very of them would really benefit from having their own app.

Off the top of my head, I think a very well designed app could benefit businesses that:

Rely on repeat business, particularly frequent purchases.
Offer delivery service. The convenience of placing an order from a smart phone and having a pizza arrive at your door, for example, is a great opportunity for having an app.
Offer non-urgent services which need to be scheduled. An app can automate appointment setting, absolving a business owner from hiring (and paying) a human to do the same job.
Offer digital information services. A subscription-based business that can keep a user updated on upcoming concerts can convey this service though an app.
The emphasis, as you probably noticed, is on a well designed app. A poorly designed one will be a huge deterrent to your otherwise satisfied customers, causing you to lose ground rather than gain it.
