Another big problem with new SEO. Is the time it now takes to have an effect on SEO. I have been doing local SEO for a sister city. I did this one hour a day for nine months. I am now listed number three on page one, I am focused still on being number one on page one.

Through google webmaster/search console you will be informed if your site has been penalized.

You can check for penalty in Google Webmasters Tools. Or add your website there and check within a week.

ery valid question.

Firstly we have to check our website rank in Google search with our main keywords. There if you see any decrease in ranking, suddenly disappears from first page, slowly rank goes down regularly etc., are the symptoms of website penalization.

Check latest updates information in google webmaster forums or moz dot com etc., would also helps you.

The best option to check that your website is penalized by Google or not is Google Analytics and Google Webmasters tool. If you see a drop in Google organic traffic during the dates that Google released an algorithmic change, then most probably your website get penalized.

In Google Webmaster tool: If you click on Search Traffic and Manual Actions, you can find out if you were penalized. For example, if Google detects unnatural links on your site, you will get a message explaining the issue.

At this stage you need to hire some SEO company who applies brilliant strategies for solving this problem staff-india dot com.

If you have a query whether your website is penalized, then you check it. Suppose it is on first page for your main keywords, it will be decreased to lower pages if it gets penalized, this is the primary sign of penalization. Some websites will be kicked out of google, it will never come on top 10 pages results. So, to avoid this threat, you have to follow ethical optimization rules. Organic search engine optimization is old and traditional, but it is very much healthy for a website sustainability and performance in SERPs. Build quality unique content and attract your visitors in this way.

Hey Jeya,

A. As many have already said, checking the website in Google Webmaster Tools [search analytics] for a big drop in Traffic and Keyword Position is a big sign you've been penalized. You can also check for a Manual Action Penalty in the [manual action] spot under the same "search traffic" area.

B. Typically, an automatic penalty would be duplicate content, keyword density is too high, or just anchor text ratio is off. You would of course fix this and then re-index your pages.(relatively easy) If it's a Manual Penalty... you would need to check the penalty there, correct it and then ask for Google to re-evaluate your site to appeal their decision. ( not easy )

The easiest way to identify a that if a website has been penalised by google is with the help of Google Search Console (Earliar known as Google Webmasters Tools).
In order to do that You need to sign into Google Search Console then go to search traffic then go to manual actions. Google will either display a message stating “No manual webspam actions found” or it will display the type of penalty.
This may seem obvious, but clearly, if you've been penalized in Google, you need to change your methods. The only exception is when your penalty is caused by a 3rd party websites, Most penalized sites do not have the advantage of knowing why they were penalised. Remember, a penalized site needs to get compliant again. And the sooner you can discover your compliance issues, the sooner you can fix and get back into the game.

Just type site: your website address on google search, if it doesn't show your website that means it's been deindexed from google.

use wen master tool to find weather your website has been penalized or not. Or else just check your site position in google if it is ranking less than your previous day or week then your site has been penalized.

The first sign you should notice is a sudden drop in organic traffic to your website. This is caused by a drop in keyword ranking, sometimes even keyword disappearance from SERPs. In most cases, Google will notify webmasters via Google Search Console. You will see a message notifying you about the penalty of your site in Google Search Console dashboard.
What should you do in that case?
- Use Google Disavow Links Tool to remove all "dirty" backlinks to your website.
- Get rid of all duplicate contents on your site, see if your content is copying from anywhere else
When you have done all site auditing, Google will gradually remove the penalty and you shall see your site showing up again in SERPs.

You can identify this issue from some factors

1) From your google webmaster tools
2) Second factor is the sudden decrease in the rankings of your website.

If you have registered on search console or webmaster tool operated by Google then you get a message over there when Google penalize the website. If your website is penalized by Google then you need to disavow the links. You can get the backlinks list from the search console and remove the links. Once you remove the backlinks then you need to submit the website again for review in search console and wait.

There are two types of site penalties first one is a manual penalty and the second one is Google algorithm penalty both penalties are different together but work do same.

Manual penalty:

To find out if your website was penalized by a manual action, go to Google Webmaster Tools and check to see if you have any new notifications. Below you can see an example.

If you have no warning messages on GWT, dig deeper to find the cause of your traffic drop.

Algorithmic Penalty

To identify what type of algorithmic penalty your website has, you will have to correlate the time period when you lost traffic with the date when a new algorithmic update occurred.

To check for any penalties, you can log the webmaster account and choose “Manual Actions” in the “Search Traffic”. The site-wide penalty is one of the most unpleasant ones as your site is viewed as spam by Google and your ranking drops dramatically. That can lead to de-indexing or blacklisting of the site too.

Depending on how well you follow the aforementioned pointers, Google can discover your website within the first four weeks of launch. Do a bang-up job, however, and your website can show up on Google in as little as four days. Having trouble getting your site to rank well? Check Google's Webmaster tools first.

The Difference Between Manual and Algorithmic Link Penalties
If you're hit with a link penalty, it'll be one of two types: a manual penalty or an algorithmic penalty. Manual penalties are applied by a member of Google's webspam team. A real person manually reviews your link profile and gives you the penalty.

The most ideal approach to check if your site was punished by a programmed punishment is to login to Google investigation and survey your Google natural traffic. On the off chance that you see a drop in rush hour gridlock during the dates that Google discharged an algorithmic change, at that point most likely you were hit and that is the explanation that your traffic dropped.

Login your account to open Webmasters Tools. ...
Look up when the significant loss in traffic took place and check if any updates were launched at that time;
Type the query of your domain into the search line to see if it is indexed as one of top ten results.
