View Full Version : Employees moonlighting for competition

A couple months ago the manager of my company quit to start his own directly competing company. I have recently discovered that some of my employees are moonlighting for him. Some of them are even taking paid vacation days to do so. This is in the construction industry and most of them are labour men or technicians so I don't think I could enforce a non-compete clause. What can I do?

I agree, an open dialogue would be best to address the issues and find a way to satisfy both sides.

Interference with primary job. The main purpose of most moonlighting policies is to set out your expectation that employees will treat their work at your business as their primary job and will not allow other jobs to interfere with the performance of the primary job.
