View Full Version : Unemployment Compensation for Corporate Officer

I am the president of a corporation. My main job responsibilities were to manager the company's retail operation and I received a weekly paycheck for these duties. In April, the retail operation was sold and I no longer have a daily job position. Pennsylvania denied me unemployment compensation. First, I would like to know if I truly am not eligible? Secondly, if I am not eligible, why has unemployment money been taken from my paycheck on a weekly basis?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In most states if you are laid off or the company closes you are automatically eligible for unemployment compensation. You should contact the agency that issued the denial and find out why.
