I'm starting a new business. So I'm working hard to generating lots of traffic to my business site. I'm researching lot about social media marketing. I have seen an article, Reddit is one of the best social network for generating lots of followers. Is it true? If your answer is yes then sell me why?

Reddit is a bit different than other social networks. If you are not sure how to generate traffic there, you will be flagged as a spam and literally driven out, while on other social networks you'll only be ignored. And the community there is a bit different. People there are into humor, sarcasm, geeky and cool stuff, so if you have content, go for it, because with over 2 billion page views in one month the potential for creating traffic to your site there is big and you should definitely try it.

Reddit does help in generating traffic most especially to local and national publishers, but that’s traffic ONLY. There's something powerful about reddit, that is people talking online. By that alone, you get to know what's trending and interesting online. That's connecting with the audience.

I know this might sound a little silly to ask about Reddit, but is the traffic coming mainly from India? Do you think you could get any from the USA? We have a few sites that we can ship around the world and one or two of our sites only can ship in the USA.

Thanks,
Mary

I've found Reddit to be hit and miss. When it hits, it's awesome, but sometimes I get a whole lot of nothing.

I think the key is that your content needs to fit nicely into an active subreddit. If there's a good match between the content you are producing and the readers of an active subreddit, then you'll have great success. I've generated thousands of hits from Reddit within 12 hours along with 50+ comments.

Hey

I'm actually advertising on reddit currently for a client

if you email me i can show you stats! before you actually take the dive in..

its cost affordable and you can target actual people who might be interested..

so if you for example have a t shirt business selling cat t shirts... you can target the cat section on reddit

Depends which subreddit you are posting in. Whenever I've posted links back to my content the traffic usually comes from North America and Europe. Its actually really cool if you post something that gets enough upvotes to make it on the front page of a popular sub (more than 50k people) and traffic starts flowing in, you can watch the real-time traffic map in Google Analytics light up from everywhere people are connecting from.

Generating traffic from Reddit is very simple all you need to know is the exact strategy for posting, time of your posting, Quality of your content, subreddit you are targeting that's it.

I provide Reddit promotion service to some of my clients and they are getting good traffic on a daily basis. If you are struggling getting traffic from Reddit then let me know i will help you out with the exact ways.

And lastly Reddit traffic are mostly from US not from India :)

Reddit is very good social media website but is very different than other websites like Facebook, Google+ etc. You have to earn some link karma & comment karma before posting your website's post. You should not spam there.

If you were to start promoting your site on reddit right now, you’d be likely to join the thousands of “Reddit Marketers” that get laughed off of the site. You see, the trick to reddit marketing is, well, to not market.

Redditors aren’t big fans of self promotion. In fact, there is a special fiery hatred within every redditors’ heart toward shameless self-promoters.

They can smell marketers from a mile away, and they’re not afraid to let you know that they hate you. If they don’t like your post, they will downvote it, bad mouth you, humiliate you and try to get you banned.

Definitely! Especially if you post in a related subreddit with lots of active subscribers. Redditors are usually very supportive of creators and businesses. There's a term "reddit hug of death", it is what happens when a website is visited by thousands of redditors at the same time, resulting in a crash because servers can no longer contain the sheer number of visitors. So, yes, Reddit is definitely great for generating traffic.

Choose your targeted community that are called subreddits.
Post quality and useful content for that subreddits members.
Don’t promote too early. (Don’t post promotional stuff in starting posts. First at least 10 post without promotion.)
Engage with other Redditors.
Keep relevancy- Post your content in an appropriate subreddit/category.
Be humble and try to communicate with your community regularly.

Guest posting can be used as a clue to your SEO success, acquisition of new clients and promising business alliances. Contributing your knowledge and expertise to authoritative platforms, you showcase the credibility and value of your brand to both human users and search robots, improve your positions in SERPs, and garner the trust of the niche community. I prefer blogs launched on the basis of marketplaces, since their readership usually consists of companies registered on the marketplace and their customers. Such users are likely to visit your site and initiate business relationships rather than simply read your posts.

Digital marketing is at its peak right now and it's pretty cool. If you want to develop your project then social media marketing is the best option. It is in social networks that people spend more time and it is there that they are most relaxed and can pay attention to any, even the most uninteresting advertising. I needed advertising for my branded shoes and the guys from social media marketing san diego (https://statsdigital.com) launched an excellent advertising campaign in social networks and managed to attract a huge number of customers and this helped to develop my business from scratch.

Reddit does help in generating traffic most especially to local and national publishers, but that’s traffic ONLY. There's something powerful about reddit, that is people talking online. By that alone, you get to know what's trending and interesting online. That's connecting with the audience.

Reddit is a bit different than other social networks. If you are not sure how to generate traffic there, you will be flagged as a spam and literally driven out, while on other social networks you'll only be ignored. And the community there is a bit different. People there are into humor, sarcasm, geeky and cool stuff, so if you have content, go for it
