Hello,
A company wishes to export machinery out of India for temporary project work. Once the work is completed, the machine will be imported back.

1. Does it require a Chartered Engineer Certificate?
2. Should the Chartered Engineer be empanneled from a Customs house or any chartered engineer will do?

Thanks.

Hi,

I can be some of assistance to you. To do this is not a problem there is no special paperwork needed but its a tricky process if you do not know what you are doing....

This kind of import/export is classed as a temporary import. You will still need to pay your duties and taxes but if you are VAT registered you will need to claim these through your books and not directly from customs.

You will need to pay your Duty and VAT on deposit.

If I can be any more assistance please do not hesitate, we can also help and provide you this service if required.

The temporary exportation [of goods] for outward processing is a "customs procedure under which goods which are in free circulation in a customs territory may be temporarily exported for manufacturing, processing or repair abroad and then reimported with total or partial exemption from import duties and taxes.

Temporary exports of construction equipment Construction projects often involve temporary export of construction equipment. Simply exporting and re-importing these items can be complicated and involve the risk of paying duty, both overseas and when bringing the goods back to the UK.
