It is a huge plus if they have expertise in your domain of business. They would be aware of the industry trends, as well as, understand the distribution model, go to market strategy for that domain.

Your thinking is appreciated and experience, you giving us good advice. It's important to choose a right adviser for your business, how to make it successful. In this way first we understand the market and then find which adviser is best for our business. If you have no good adviser then you have big lost in your business and after big lost I think it's impossible to run it. There are two category of adviser in business field like for run a new business and existing business.

Totally agree with this post, some loan advisors are just looking out for themselves to earn commission and disregard your needs and situation.

Advisor can help to get an insight of the business. The pro and con's of any action as when we enter a business as a newbie we are unaware of the consequences and outcome

That's true JSMBK, If you ever didn't find any financial advisor, you may consider this group of accountants here (http://www.fusiongroup.net.au/accountants-perth/self-managed-super-fund/). They have a team of accountants than could help you manage your self-managed super fund or smsf. So, financial advisor is really important, you know we don't born having those excel tied on our navel though. :D

In my opinion, hiring a business advisor is ladder to success. But there are certain skills a business advisor should possess to make the business run well that are he or she should have experience, he or she should have great managing skills and great communication to handle all the situations easily and must be knowledgeable.

If you are looking forward for a financial adviser it is necessary to look that the person has a vast knowledge and experience to handle any financial crisis immediately. Make sure that your adviser is very good at investment this can be portrayed through his art of the daily news feed regarding investment policy. They should be well experienced in managing the time and portfolio timely to ensure more projects requirement.

Here are a few tips to choosing the right investment advisor:

1.Identify your biggest needs. You may have a complex issue that you need help with, may have a few issues, or you may be looking for a true holistic approach.
2.Ask your friends and family. The best way to find an advisor is finding one someone else or multiple people recommend. Many advisors will seem like a good choice in the initial sales process. You need to figure out how they are 5–10 years down the road and the level of service they give each client.
3.Make sure they’re qualified. Make sure your investor is who they say they are and they truly earned the credentials they say they have.
4.Review their form ADV or Form U-5. These documents provide information on the advisors business and past records.
5.Search professional databases. Look into this NAPFA database for instance.
6.Figure out if they specialize in clients like you. Different people have different planning needs. Whatever is important to you make sure your advisor has experience in that.
7.Figure out how you pay your advisor. Make sure the fees you pay are reasonable and you’re not paying an advisor commission.
8.Find someone you trust and get along with. You will hopefully have a long lasting relationship with the person you choose to advise you. Make sure you trust them and their professional opinion.

I have been debating about this with friends for long. Is it better to save up to start a business or to take up a loan?

They analyze a company's business plan and financial statements to properly advise it about investments, marketing, and potential funding opportunities. Technology is now able to produce financial reports without the help of a business advisor, but it is the job of the business advisor to analyze those reports.
