Hello, I have been looking into starting my own small business, but my biggest problem- like everyone else- is money. My question to anyone who has any knowledge would be are government grants really available? and are they easy to get? where do I get them? please if anyone knows anything about this help me! Thanks

As far as I understand they are not easy to get. I suspect you will need some 'circumstances' to justify one: or they may well tell you to go to the bank for a loan.

If you are not import/export or anything like that, perhaps your local town hall, or business link, or similar is a good starting place (assuming you are UK based).

Grants from the federal government are authorized and appropriated through bills passed by Congress and signed by the president. Grant authority varies among agencies. For example, the Small Business Administration (SBA) may distribute grants to nonprofit organizations in many of its counseling and training programs.
