    New Business Question
I have an EIN for a business that I wanted to open under my married name

I have since changed my name back to my maiden name
And want to start my business under my maiden name and rename it as well
I would like to just get a new EIN #
    Reflecting these changes
Can I do this without problems with the IRS
It's basically a new business under a new name
    Thanks !

You can get a new EIN for a new business. There is no restriction on obtaining more than one EIN. You need to follow these provisions:
    1. Apply to the IRS for a new EIN and disclose details of previous EIN simply stating that you want to start a new business with a different name. than the previous one.
    2. If you have ever filed any returns under the previous EIN, also disclose them.
