    Regulations for External Battery Pack
I own a company that makes external battery packs. I am curious as to what exact regulations my battery pack needs to apply to, and how to I get it approved to be sold? I need everything to be legal with it, and no almost nothing about what i need to put on it, any warnings, or licenses I need to sell. Please, if anyone knows, or knows where i can find out what regulations/ permits I need to apply for, help me out. Thanks Guys.

Are you selling battery packs to OEM manufacturers? If so, they'll tell you what certifications you need. And, those certifications will be based upon their needs for certification.

If you're selling to the general public, as a consumer product, that gets trickier. For starters, UL is required with just about anything that has electricity. But, any one of your competitors will have had to meet those certifications. Just go buy one or two examples and see what certs they have listed.

I, btw, am in the electronics business, I've been selling components for more than 20 years. Including batteries and battery packs. But, I only sell to OEM manufacturers.

    Good luck!
