    Yes, definitely. Especially if you don't know the law very well. Although, in the 21st century I would call it a necessity, because at every turn they try to cheat you. Basically, if you're dealing with documents a lot, you need a lawyer you can always go to. I started my own business a few years ago, and they tried to trap me many times. I found brilliant lawyers and now I always use their services, I feel safer that way. You can't rely on yourself in a case in which you are not an expert. You can save a lot of time and money by hiring a lawyer.

    If the lawyer is willing to take your case, ask about charges for services. You will receive a contract referred to as a legal services agreement, that the lawyer should explain to you. Carefully read and understand the document before you sign it. At that point or before services are rendered, you will also be asked to pay a retainer or deposit.
