Business-to-business (B2B) is a transaction or business conducted between one business and another, such as a wholesaler and retailer. B2B transactions tend to happen in the supply chain, where one company will purchase raw materials from another to be used in the manufacturing process

What are some examples of b2b?
    Examples of B2B companies

One example of a traditional B2B market is in automobile manufacturing. Everyone knows some of the biggest consumer-facing brands, but in every model of car or truck they produce are dozens of other companies' products.

B2B is short for business-to-business sales. It refers to an activity where a business is selling its products or services (=creating value) to another business or buying something from a business (=consuming value). It is distinct from B2C or business-to-consumer, which mean business to individuals rather than businesses.

In total the worldwide B2B business market is over twice bigger than the B2C market, because usually a lot of B2B transactions must happen before a B2C sales is made (rents, marketing, consulting, construction, recruiting services, accounting etc).

Business-to-business (B2B), also called B-to-B, is a form of transaction between businesses, such as one involving a manufacturer and wholesaler, or a wholesaler and a retailer. Business-to-business refers to business that is conducted between companies, rather than between a company and individual consumer.

Examples of real-world B2B activity are plentiful and more visible than you might guess. For instance, the cloud-based document storage company Dropbox serves businesses as well as individuals. General Electric makes plenty of consumer goods, but it also provides parts to other enterprises.

To help you get a better idea of the different types of business customers in B2B markets, we've put them into four basic categories: producers, resellers, governments, and institutions.
