I'd say reaching for 30 million is a little outrageous. You can make a good indie movie for a little less than a million. I would lower your budget if I were you and either find some good unknown actors or blow away the actors you want with an amazing script.

I make decent money on Cash Crate and pay for a number of things using gift cards I get on InstaGC. Feel free to check out my work online blog.

$30 million is probably high if you are just starting. If you want to make a cheaper movie, crowd-funding would be your best bet. Come up with a great idea and make it in less than that amount.

$30 million is extremely high. If you've estimated it at this amount, where are the expenses coming from?

This might be low for a Hollywood movie, but unless you have some pretty popular indie movies already under your belt and an insane amount of well-off connections, I don't think you're going to hit this for your first try. But I am curious on how you arrived at this figure.

I don't have experience in this particular field of investments, but Kickstarter.com is a great place for people who are seeking funding for their projects. It is an alternative funding source where you seek funding from many different people. The investments per person would be smaller, but they add up!

What type of "film project" are you asking about? Is it porn? Is it for a hobby? Are you looking to direct a feature film? Are you trying to sell a script to a major production company, ie Lucas Films, 20th Century Fox, Dreamworks, Disney? Please give us a bit more details about your film project.

A porn film with a $30 budget. Then again, you didn't even read the thread because he does explain a bit more in a later post.

I would go with IndiGogo or Kickstarter. I don't know what the terms on those 2 platforms are for movies. I only know the terms for technological stuff and they require you to have a working prototype so I would assume you can't just register and make a claim without having anything on paper.

Whatever you do, don't give out the script. Even if companies look like they are thinking about giving you money, don't give them the script. Maybe small passages but never the entire script.

If you can't sell it to a major motion picture production studio, you're going to have to get creative and look to crowdfunding, private investments, etc. Maybe you can start a social media campaign that will net you the cash you need. How about peer to peer lending like Prosper? I don't know if lending is the right thing for you, since there is always a possibility that the film won't do well, but it's a thought.

Although I always encourage people to follow their dreams, I really think you should start small. If you don't have any credibility, I don't think anyone would sponsor your film. I say sponsor because that is what it is. Your investors will never see their money again.

Getting funding for film is very difficult and I have never seen anyone getting funding for film as this is very uncertain project. You can get this by some some after showing your some property as mortgage or anything like that.
According to me it is very difficult to get funding without any reputation even with a great story because great stories can also be told in a bad way, which people do not like. What is the guarantee that you will make a good movie with good story???
