..A pinch of this, a pinch of that, some creative stirring, and marketing mix that can’t be matched. This is what “marketing your business for success” is all about, capturing the reader’s attention and delivering the intended message.

By now you understand that in order to promote your business; an integrated marketing communications idea is absolutely crucial to a successful promotional campaign. This is a concept of marketing that revolves around portraying a clear and consistent message about the company, business, or product and illustrates the company's vision and mission.

What is it that makes your idea stand out, what about your concept is different than what everyone else is doing? Is it different, does it even need to be? Figure out what type of customer – your exact demographic – wants your product or service, then start brainstorming on what it is that appeals to that audience.

I'll go one step further...figure out your exact demographic and then create a product just for that demographic. The ultimate in tailored marketing and development is creating a product to perfectly fill a need. What better way than finding the market and then making the product. This is what Dodge did with the Minivan. They found a specific group, with a specific need and then created the product. They didn't try to convince soccer moms that their station wagon products were right...they found a great market and made product perfectly tailored. Take advantage of markets like this that are untapped and have a strong linkage and opportunity for some word of mouth advertising.

    Hi,

I do believe that this old age marketing strag works the best.

"Provide Your Clients With Quality Service/Products".

With all those marketing channels and tactics we talked about, this is one of the best. Imagine this, if you can provide quality service or products, word of mouth spread. People will not hesitate to advertise for you...FOR FREE.......

Good products don't sell themselves. Remember this or you are doomed. What company invented both the CD player and the VCR? Sony? No, Phillips...but you didnt' know that because their leadership thought these products would sell themselves.

I've done quite a bit of research on line and paid for some too. I've learned that what works online is different in format from how we market offline. There are a lot of great resources about how you should be consolidating your website online and arranging it in a different format to catch the online viewer and hold their interest for more than a few seconds. Testimonials add a huge percentage to the users viewing time it seems. They have to be real. Wish I could post some links to help. the important thing to note is if your hits or sales are way off you may just need to arrange the format of the site and do some experimenting to see what works.

I agree 100% about filling a need for any given customer base. Even if you have a GREAT product, if people aren't interested in it, they won't be buying it. Find the interest first, then create or modify the product to match.

Once you have done that, then you go with the age-old concepts of providing quality customer service and relationship building.

I think it is important to know who your customers are. For some products its obvious but for others, it might be less obvious. Think about massage devices Hitachi sells. They thought they were making products to massage your back. Turns out people tend to use it for others things more.
