    Nevada LLC
    Help!
Just started a Nevada LLC for Tax purposes.
Home address is in California but we have a registered agent in Nevada that we have paid for.
When filling out SS-4 form do we list the registered agent address or our address in California?
Also if doing online business do we need Nevada business license?
Totally new to this. Any help greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

Can't provide answers but perhaps you can get them from the Small Business Administration www.sba.gov

    Hello.

For the SS-4 form, I'd ask the IRS. Their number is listed on the SS-4 instruction page. The form asks for your mailing list, and then any other address you wish to list. Then on another line, it asks for the state in which you formed the LLC. I would definitely verify with the IRS that your physical address is the mailing address and the "registered agent's" address goes under "other."

Why not also ask the registered agent? I'm sure he/she has dealt with that issue before.

As far as your other question about licenses, normally you need a license in any county you do business, but the exact type varies according to what you sell (or what service you provide.)

    Cindy:

First rule is do not ask the IRS. Their job is to collect tax. Their job is not to provide free consultations. You are not going to want to use the registered office address when filling out the SS-4. The registered agent does not assist with tax matters.

Use your mailing address on the SS-4. The Registered Agent is not there to assist you with tax matters. Also remember that the IRS is there to collect tax. They are not there to provide tax advise.
